I remember back in graduate school we didn’t learn much about ADHD. I think there was one paragraph from one text book in one class. And it made some sense, I guess. After all only about 5-8% of the population has ADHD and for the longest time it was considered a childhood illness that most people “grew out of”. The anticipation was that we would likely not see a lot of clients with ADHD.
That’s changed in recent years. Awareness around ADHD and other neurodivergent brain types continue to increase and more and more people are getting diagnosed.
