ADHD Counselor Training and Certification Programs

Helping you Help Others With ADHD

ADHD Training and Certification Programs with Jolie Beth

I remember back in graduate school we didn’t learn much about ADHD.  I think there was one paragraph from one text book in one class.  And it made some sense, I guess.  After all only about 5-8% of the population has ADHD and for the longest time it was considered a childhood illness that most people “grew out of”.  The anticipation was that we would likely not see a lot of clients with ADHD.

That’s changed in recent years.  Awareness around ADHD and other neurodivergent brain types continue to increase and more and more people are getting diagnosed.  That means we’re seeing more neurodivergent people seeking help…and if your ADHD education was anything like mine, you may be wondering what you can do when that ADHD client asks for help.

You may have already realized that, while there is some solid information about ADHD on the internet, it is also full of misinformation.  You might have also noticed a strong disability bias which, in my experience, hasn’t helped clients develop an empowered personal narrative and often adds to the existing trauma around ADHD that many clients already experience.   It can be a struggle to sort through the good information from the bad.

Here’s the good news!  I’ve done the work so you don’t have to.  I spent several years studying all of the available research, reading the books, and developing strategies that work.
